Quick Hit – Another StyleArc Ann Tee Top

Over the (longish) weekend, I decided to whip up some tops, including another StyleArc Ann Tee Top. This has become another of my go-to patterns for tops. I like the long sleeves and open-but-not-deep-cut neckline on this one. Alas, my favorite version got splattered with bacon grease, and one of the boys threw it in the washer and dryer without pretreating it, so the grease stains set. I can’t get too mad, since they were doing laundry, but it was sad. So I decided to remake it. This time I used Super Soft Rayon Jersey in Heathered Dark Gray. It’s less stretchy and slightly lighter weight than my previous version, but the drape on it is just beautiful. I made it in the same manner as the other versions of this shirt, laying the sleeves in flat, rather than setting them in after sewing the side seams closed. Also, because this knit has very little stretch in the length, I used gathering stitches to do the ruching at the sides. Other than that, third verse, same as the first! Here’s a picture of the end result on Shelley.

I love this pattern!

Here in the Boston area, we’re expecting anywhere between 6 and 12 inches of snow starting tonight, and the weather people are practically drooling over the Blizzard Warnings!!! for the south shore and Cape Cod. I don’t know about you, but I’m already sick of this winter, and it’s just a month old. If you’re in the path of the storm, please stay safe and warm.

Happy sewing!
